DESIGN INSPIRATION
The charismatic flower and pagoda design that decorates Song Garden is based on an 18th-century document fabric—an early example of French Chinoiserie that relied on wood-block printing, rather than engraved plates, for its simplified motif. The results have a graphic, hand-hewn charm that’s hard to resist. To highlight that effect in this new linen adaptation, we enlarged the pattern in a lavish scale, giving the centuries-old scheme a fresh and modern relevance. Colorways only augment the allure: Lacquer is a combination of white against deep red, Greige blends light gray and charcoal, Cocoa marries ivory with brown, and Chartreuse is a mélange of aqua and citron green hues.
